WENDY BURCH
CHAIRPERSON


Wendy Burch is an acclaimed television reporter, anchor and host. In the course of her broadcast career, she’s interviewed some of the biggest newsmakers of the day.  With more than 15 years of reporting experience, Burch has delivered thousands of live television news reports: everything from breaking news—to high-profile court cases—to star-studded red carpet events.

Her talents have taken her across the country to major television markets including: Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Denver and Phoenix.  Wendy Burch has worked as an Entertainment Correspondent in Hollywood for CBS News and E! News Daily, and is currently employed as a freelance reporter in LA, for KABC’s Eyewitness News. She has received numerous honors and awards, including an Emmy for Outstanding Television Reporting.

A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Burch graduated from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism.  As a child, Burch always knew she wanted to be a reporter.  Her first on-air job came at the age of just 22 when she was hired as the main anchor, reporter, producer and ‘weather girl’ for a small television station in Eureka, California…(four months into the job, she was even promoted to News Director)!

As a television journalist, Wendy is well aware of the fact that you make a living out of what you ‘get’… but strongly believes you make a life out of what you give!   Because of her conviction to community service, Burch has spent countless hours helping individuals and organizations dedicated to serving others. A popular host and emcee, Wendy has helped with thousands of community event in the many cities where she has both lived and worked. 

In the summer of 2006, Wendy decided to give her philanthropic efforts more focus and founded The Good News Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings together a powerful network of television newswomen.  Through these ‘connections’ the Foundation awards grant money to individuals and organizations creating ‘good news’ in the communities we cover on a daily basis—as well as offers academic scholarships and mentoring programs for young women aspiring to become the next generation of the television journalists.

Wendy Burch currently resides in Los Angeles, California, and when she isn’t running-down news stories, she is busy building-up her own communications company.  Burch Media Inc. is a multi-faceted corporation that puts Wendy’s many talents to good work.  Combining what it is she knows, with what she loves, Wendy is a well-respected media trainer for some of today’s most popular professional athletes.  As their ‘coach’, Wendy helps athletes improve their performance any time the microphone ‘comes into play’.  A number of NBA teams are already on her exclusive client roster including: the Celtics, Spurs, Sonics, Rockets, Jazz, Kings, Grizzlies, Lakers, and Timberwolves. Burch is also a professional writer, with many published magazine articles in various publications across the country.  She is currently working on her first book entitled: “Lucky Girl”.  The non-fiction work delivering the message of how individuals can bring greater luck into their lives.  Wendy has also written a children’s book, inspired by the true ‘tails’ of her 3-legged rescue dog, Cassidy.
