GOOD NEWS FOUNDATION AWARDS COMMUNITY
SERVICE AWARD TO KNBC’s ANGIE CROUCH

The Good News Foundation
recognized the charitable commitment of KNBC-TV Reporter, Angie Crouch, by awarding her our inaugural Community Service Award, for dedicating herself to helping AIDS orphans in South Africa.  In September of 2005, Angie took time off from her reporting duties to spend an entire month in KwaZulu Natal, working with AIDS orphans, abandoned babies and poor children with no access to health care.  Angie plans to return to South Africa to film a documentary on the plight of these South African children.

ANGIE CROUCH
For Outstanding Dedication to the Children of Africa

Angie Crouch always had the desire to help people and has dedicated herself to helping AIDS orphans in South Africa. In September of 2005, Angie took time off as a reporter for KNBC to spend a month in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa — the AIDS capital of the world. While there she helped AIDS orphans, abandoned babies, child rape victims and poor children with no access to health care.

Upon her return to the United States, Angie has been instrumental in creating awareness and raising funds for the continued benefit of the children. Angie plans to return to South Africa in the spring to film a documentary about children who are victims of the ‘virgin cure myth’, a belief held in many remote villages that sleeping with a virgin can cure AIDS.

"I am never happier than when I am helping these children.  They are grateful, generous, courageous, and despite their struggles, they are among the most joyful people I have ever met.  They are my favorite subject, my favorite pastime, and my greatest honor."
